Cecile Pileggi, M.D.

Dr. Cecile Pilegi is a board certified physician, practicing Family Medicine for over twenty years. The same philosophy that attracted her to Family Medicine attracted her to total skin care: not only the detection and treatment of existing conditions, but also the prevention of further problems.

While practicing medicine, she was frequently asked about aging skin. "Physicians are trained to diagnose and treat diseases, not to address normal aging skin", says Pileggi. When advised to discuss their concerns with their dermatologist, they would often return explaining that the dermatologist was not interested in cosmetic dermatology or would just put some samples in a bag and tell the patient to "try these". Unfortunately, in this era of healthcare, many times a patient doesn't even see a doctor or if they do, the physician is too busy to answer questions or educate patients about non-pathological problems.
As she noticed her own skin starting to show its age, as well as more and more patients enquiring about their skin concerns, she decided to focus her practice towards cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Pileggi completed extensive training and received certification in the procedures she performs.

As a mother, wife, and daughter Dr. Pileggi has found that for many years, the family caretaker often neglected themselves. Balanced nutrition, reasonable exercise, and treatment of any medical conditions, are all part of our well-being; hopefully these aspects of our health regimen have been addressed. Dr. Pileggi states, "It is satisfying and gratifying to be a part of my patient's goal towards healthy living." Skin care is not a matter of vanity; it means caring for a part of your body with its physiological benefit and psychological benefit as well.
